Finances top issue for Barefoot Bay candidates at debate
BAREFOOT BAY — Finances remained the top issue tackled by the four candidates for two seats on the Barefoot Bay Recreation District's Board of Trustees.
The debate Thursday night was hosted by the Barefoot Bay Democratic Club, and moderated by John Weider.
Barefoot Bay voters will be selecting two trustees on Nov. 8. Two incumbents, Tom Guinther and Louise Crouse , are both seeking new terms on the five-member board. Other candidates are Severio Michael "Sonny" Raponi and former trustee Wilma Weglein , who is seeking to return to the board. Trustees aren't paid and serve two years.
Each candidate gave a three-minute opening statement, outlining his or her qualifications for the board position, before answering three questions, mostly relating the district's finances, employees and lack of policy and procedures.
