of course you can show it to some good mechanic
but putting a dc motor will cost you almost the cost of a new treadmill any way you just check it

motorized is when you flip the switch and the machine starts working and you just jump on it. magnetic is moved by your feet moving thru ball bearings inside the product.
answer from an exercise perspective.
Most people buy a manual treadmill solely because of the low price. But then, there really is no other reason to buy a non-motorized treadmill. They have a lot of drawbacks that you should consider before buying one since the matter of manual vs....
A treadmill will help tone your legs but less so your bum. A stairmaster type piece of kit in a gym would be best. The other thing to consider would be aerobics. If you want to get something for home use then the pneumatic stairs machines would work

Toddlers sent to bootcamp as parents struggle to find time to play with kids ...
"He's not even three but he's a big boy, so any exercise is good," Mrs Pedler said.
My Fitness Club at Sippy Downs holds hour-long exercise sessions for children aged five to eight and nine to 12.
The program, which changes every week, includes strength training, obstacle courses, mini Olympics, fitness education and boxing.
Gym floor supervisor Mel Charlton said parents appreciated the chance to work out while their children improved their own fitness.
"We have a couple of overweight children but since they've been with us their co-ordination and confidence has increased," Ms Charlton said.
Even childcare centres are getting in on the trend, using benches with 2kg weights, exercise bikes, pint-sized rowers, air-walkers, exercise pony and non-motorised treadmills.
Confidence Power Plus Motorised Treadmill Now Available
Birmingham, United Kingdom, January 15, 2011 –(PR.com)– It is well accepted by many fitness and exercise experts that a treadmill is the ultimate in cardiovascular fitness equipment and gives an excellent aerobic workout. It is suitable for those who are just starting out on their fitness regime to those who are in training for a marathon.
Various studies throughout the years have shown doing physical activity is extremely beneficial to your health. It can help relieve back pain, arthritis, hypertension and other health conditions. Physical exercise also helps weight loss, to build and maintain healthy bones, muscles and joints, and helps to tone and shape.
Perhaps the greatest benefit of a tread mill is that it can burn more calories than any other piece of fitness equipment. Studies based on a medium intensity workout showed that an hour on the exercise bike burns 500 calories compared to 700 on the treadmill. This is because you use a greater range of muscles on the treadmill than you do on a bike.
