The article spotlighted Dr. Nichole Keith, an associate professor of exercise science at IUPUI who uses the TrekDesk daily at work. "Sedentary behavior is as harmful as physical inactivity," Keith was quoted in the article. "I'm not tired at the end of the day. And I want to get in front of my desk, so I can start working because that means I can start walking, too."
Also interviewed in the article was Dr. Hohn Thyfault , associate professor in the Departments of Nutrition, Exercise Physiology and internal Medicine at the University of Missouri. Dr. Thyfault spoke specifically about the role of inactivity in the alarming rise of diabetes, "Inactivity is a primary player in the development of diabetes," he related in the article. "You want to get your regular exercise and cut down your sitting time. Inactivity provides a threshold or an opportunity for chronic diseases to develop."
