Massage Table Sheets

I just finished massage school and I am having a hard time finding where to find supplies. I need a table, sheets, and creams. I am specifically in San Antonio TX. Thanks for the help!

I don't know San Antonio, but there are a number of good internet-based vendors, including Massage Warehouse, where you can get excellent quality stuff for good prices. Also, talk to your fellow students, and to massage practitioners you know in town and ask where they get their gear...

I'm looking for a sheet of a certain material that I can use on top of my massage table, while working on a client. The material should be resistant to massaging oil stains. I've used cotton sheets in the past and it's almost impossible to get the oil stains out of it. I'm thinking that a material similar to what barbers use to cover your body from cut hair would be a nice material, or something like that. If you know where I can purchase that, I'll appreciate that a lot. I'm in Boston, Mass.

A classmate from massage school raved about the microfiber sheet set that she received for her birthday. She indicated that the sheets did not stain even after a hydrotherapy class where we did an oil massage. I believe that her sheets were the Spalena sheet sets available from Costco.

Sorry if this seems long winded by my question needs a preface......

My wifes friend from work is a massage therapist. (a legit one, not the kind you hear about on TV cop shows) She is super cool. One of those "free spirit" type women who is very kind and easy to be around. The first time I met her was when my wife set up an appointment for her to come over to the house to give me a massage. She is good at what she does and I admire anyone with that kind of talent.

During the time I was on my back and she was working my quads, she performed a long stroke from the knee all the way up to the hip. In the process, she managed to rub against my penis which was resting on my thigh just below the hip. It caught me off guard since most massages I've had, the therapist stops that stroke 3/4 of the way up the thigh and doesn't go all the way to the hip under the drape. Well wouldn't you know it, that brush with my "manhood" caused my stuff to arise. I had no control at that point. Next thing I know, her hand is directly on top of my semi erection (which is draped with the sheet). It was like she was leaning on my hip for balance but my thing just happened to be there too! She was basically holding it in her hand through the drape. I thought for a second that maybe she was trying to hold it down. I don't know. It was uncommon for sure.
Neither one of us acknowledged it at the time but when the massage was over, and I was laying on the table under the sheet and my wife and her were sitting on the couch next to the massage table, we had this "knowing" glance at each other like, "did that really happen?" But nothing was said.

I guess my question is for any therapists out there. Or if anyone getting a massage has experience this, chime in.

Do you therapists normally continue a stroke all the way up the leg, under the drape, and up to the hip bone? Have any of you had this type of thing happen where you have unintentionally touched the clients penis? It that just something that happens from time to time?

What keeps me guessing about the whole thing is that she already knew my penis was in that spot when she initially brushed it, so why would she place her hand right there on top of it to balance herself?

I have not said anything to my wife about it. She probably wouldn't be bothered anyway. But I think I want to schedule another massage! :)

Thanks for you answer. Feedback from Licensed Therapists is what I am looking for. My last statement about wanting to schedule another massage was tongue in cheek. Kidding. And I do agree with your convictions about therapists who give others a bad name. My wife, a licensed therapist herself feels the same way. I guess what I was trying to figure out is if it could possibly been accidental on her part. Since, although she did go under the drape, because my penis was on my thigh/hip, maybe she was not expecting it to be there. It wasn't like she was working the inner thigh or anything when it occured. Maybe I should have not let it rest on my leg?

Thank you for your answer as well. I doubt I will be reporting her to any Authorities as it did not really bother me. Not sure if I will even report it to my wife. I am only trying to figure out if this kind of thing happens by accident but from your response I guess it is abnormal to say the least. I wonder if I am at fault for becoming aroused when she first (unintentionally?) touched me. Do you ever place your hand near the hip area to balance yourself? Cause while the first "brush" was easy to let slide, the placing of the hand on it was the kicker.

I am a Licensed MT myself. And I actually had an accident while performing a massage on one male client. He was runner and needed some attention to his quads. As I was doing a long stroke from the knee to the hip, although he was fully draped, somehow, and i have no idea how it happened, and it was really embarassing because this was not my intention at all, i brushed against his member. It still makes me uncomforatble to think that it actually happened. He didnt say anything and either did I, and he has been back since then for professional massage, so he probably knew it was an accident. As for placing my hand on his "hip" for balance after that? No, I actually steered clear of the hip and moved on, so I didn't give the wrong impression. Accidents happen I guess, and I'm sorry it happened to me and it may have to your therapist, but what she did following the brushing may have gone a little far, possibly intentional.

I want massage theraphy for the pain in my lower back due to non-activity. I know of this person (female) and her husband does the "Videio" at church for worl wide distrubution. His wife, who I have never met does physical therapy all over the city. She even does house calls, and works in a saloon near me for two days per-week. She chargers $60.00 while she is in this beauty saloon, but I do not know how much for a massagw at home. I would say $100.00 per-hour. She has a van and her own table, sheets,pads, pillows, lotion, vibrators. "Tenns-unit" (electro shock)..i have never had a massage, but due to my hospital stay, and non-activity my muscles are also too the "athophy" stage. When I call for an appointment wheather it be at the "Saloon", or here I think when she sees me she will know who I am as my youngest son works in the production room with her husband.

My question is the fact that it is my lower back all the way across my waist. What will she have me do.

You will most likely have to remove your shirt and undershirt and lie face down on the massage table. It's no big deal.
