I'm building a home gym and I'm on a budget. I already have a bike machine but I'm now interested in adding weight training to my agenda. I saw a weight bench at Walmart for $150 that included 100 lbs. of weights and the bench. I only weigh about 135 lbs so that could be a start for me.
Would you recommend that I buy that cheap Walmart bench? Or should I just get dumbbells? My main goal is to gain body mass. Do you recommend any other benches/home gyms for my type of goals?
a bench is absolutely necessary for building mass. i would recommend that you look at the type of bench though, because if it for standard weights, then you will quickly outgrow it, and it probs isnt very stable. try to buy a bench for olympic weights.
Home gym with smith machine, olympic bench, body solid G5S, cable cross over, leg press, barbell, dumbells

I plan to begin weight training at home and I'm looking to buy a set of adjustable dumbbells and an exercise bench which can be adjusted to recline for workout purposes. I came across a gym poster which showed a guy using adjustable square dumbbells and I wonder if those are better than the regular ones... in addition, I only want to purchase a single set of dumbbells and the various weight plates to fit into it alone. Is that possible? Any suggestions? Thanks.
You should go to the fitness store and consult the experts there because they would know better. Not hear of square dumbbells before, sorry.
Thinking that I workout regularaly and thinking of the costs of both sides, what do you buff guys reccomend? I already have a bench press at home but with little amount of weight and it's a cheap one too. Gym I imagine would have everything I need. Thanks to all.
unless you have something complex like a bowflex or increasing weights (barbells), plus a chin up bar, dip bar...if you have the money/space a home gym is nice but for like 50 bucks a month you can use a gym and all thier weights...also at the gym you can have spotters
