I have a very simple gold's gym bench at home. I can do bench press and that's about it. I would like to do squats also. This is with free weights of course.
What would be a good bench that lets you do squats and bench? I saw one...
If you have a lot of money then try buying a Home Gym which is a workout machine that you can work every arm muscle you can do squats and bench. If you don't then you should just put the benching bar on your shoulders and behind your head and then do

You can only tell by either calling the supplier or reading the paper which comes with your bar.

Middleburg Heights man bench-presses his way to international meet
A Middleburg Heights man will represent the United States in an international powerlifting competition set for April in South Africa.
Michael Landino, 44, won the United States National Powerlifting competition that was held this fall in Orlando. Landino competes in the bench-pressing competition and can bench more than 600 pounds.
“I can consistently hit over 600 pounds, and I hope to bench more than 630 pounds before the competition, but I don’t have a specific goal in mind,” Landino said at the Middleburg Heights Recreation Center, where he works out regularly.
Landino, along with nine other males and eight females from throughout the Country, will represent the United States at the International Powerlifting Federation’s World Bench Press Championship. The IPF is an international governing body for the sport of powerlifting, as recognized by the General Association of International Sports Federations as well as the International Olympic Committee.
Resistance Band Home Gyms Better Than Just About Anything Else Out ...
After several months of training with resistance bands, I feel I am able to make a reasonable assessment of its value and utility. Although I am currently using Bodylastics, my general observations probably hold true for all these types of equipment.
Resistance band training does have its limitations. First and foremost is its “rubber band” effect. As you extend the movement, the “resistance” increases. That is great. Not so great is the reverse effect. As you return to the start position, the resistance goes to zero, in some cases.
Let us take the squat. In the down position with free weights, you are still under whatever weight you began with. With resistance bands, the resistance goes to zero as the bands return to its “normal” length. Hence in the down position, there is no stress on the legs unlike free weight squats. Same holds true if you were doing rows with the bands.
