The Briargate Gold's Gym at 7655 N. Union Blvd. reopened Friday.
The Briargate Gold’s Gym in north Colorado Springs reopened Friday, two days after the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office locked the doors as part of a court order.
The doors were locked Wednesday after a complaint in 4th Judicial District Court, which alleged that Gold’s Gym franchisee Fitness Consortium LLC, of Bellevue, Wash., owed $1.02 million in back rent, late charges and interest on the nearly 49,000-square-foot building it leased in a shopping center from a local real estate company.
Franchiser Gold’s Gym International, based in surburban Dallas, announced Friday that the Briargate facility, 7655 N. Union Blvd., had reopened. The company issued a statement saying it had put its own personnel in place to temporarily manage the gym and will continue to work with the landlord “to find a permanent solution for the management of the facility.”
