What is the best home fitness equipment to purchase for daily use?

I'd like something that i can actually get a work out with while whatching my favorite shows. I want something decent and not an outragous price. Main thing i want something i can stick to and that will give me a workout. I'm female so i'm looking to work out the lower part of the body more then anything!

I suggest an exercise bike, because you can work out at a high intensity on it while watching TV, it provides a good workout for your lower body, and you can find them at whatever price fits your budget. Another good choice would be an elliptical trainer, but these tend to be more expensive. You can set the incline and resistance on these to specifically target thighs or hip. Here is a good intro to choosing an elliptical trainer:

I wouldn't suggest a treadmill, because it would be hard to run on it unless you devote your full attention, and if you walk on it at a lower intensity, it probably won't help very much in toning your lower body.

Where can I sell my fitness equipment?

I have 14 toning tables that I would like to get rid of. I have been looking for a place to list or sell them to and get a good price. Ebay is a not a good site, the other tables do not sell that are listed on there. Is there any other good place?

Craigslist, industry publications, industry-specific online forums, auction houses, ask local fitness shops where they got theirs and contact that source to see if they're interested or if they have any suggestions.

Hope this helps.

Would anyone know anything about this piece of fitness equipment?

...It is called a Strength trainer ST 150...It has a pull down, bench press, butterfly, leg attatchment etc etc...
It has everything built in and you add the plates to up the weight...
I am wondering if it is a good unit for strength training, and if it is worth the asking price of $180.00
Thanks
Maybe i was not very clear..I was just wondering if this machine is a good machine.
I realize free weights yield better results and combining machines and weights is the best.
Anyone know of this machine?

you should invest in a regular bench that inclines with leg extention. make sure you get at least 100lb of weights to start off with. pick up some dumbells too. you can get it for the same price as the other and you can do more with it. weight varies from machine to machine, but barbell plates are always 45lb

Is there a place that sells used fitness equipment for cheap, other than ebay?

I'm considering getting a total gym, but don't want to pay full price.

Try Bargain Finder, Craigslist, call local gyms to see if they are selling any equipment they don't need anymore, they are always replacing things.

Good fitness equipment for someone with limited space?

I would love to invest in some fitness equipment, but I don't have a lot of space to store anything... I'd love to get a bike to ride in the summer and a trainer to mount it on in the winter, but thats the only thing that I can think of that I can store easily... (bike outside, trainer in a closet or something till I'm ready to use it) I've seen a commercial, and if I'm thinking correctly, its the Bowflex Treadclimber, that folds up for easier storage... I'd love to get one of these, but its definitely not in my price range at this point in my life...Does anyone have any experience with any good, EFFECTIVE exercise equipment that doesn't take up a lot of room?
Well, I live in a small town and have to drive 45 minutes to get to a gym... I just want something to use for good cardio besides a treadmill...

I have had bad experience with equipment that folds or is lightweight.
Foldable ellipticals and stairmasters tend to be very unstable and to shake. There are couple really good ellipticals that are small and stable, but they are very expensive.
My advice would be to get a stationary bike. You can get a used one for $20-30 on Craigslist or a new one from Wal-Mart for $80-$120. Since the base doesn't move when you work out, it's going to be very stable. You might need to get a padded seat cover, but those aren't too expensive- they are about $20.
The new models are very light and easy to move.If you get one where you can collapse the handles, you can store it in its original box in a closet or under your bed.
