Places to get in shape are popping up in all sizes, from the 3,000- to 5,000-square-foot spaces favored by Snap Fitness, to brawnier models such as the 61,000-square-foot 24 Hour Fitness gym set to open on Route 4 in Paramus in mid-December, or the more-than 200,000-square-foot "fitness resorts" favored by the Life Time Fitness company.
The gyms also come in all price ranges, from chains with membership plans for $10 a month and even less, to fitness "boutiques" that charge $30 or more per visit.
