I am looking into buying a treadmill or an eliptical, and was wondering which would be the best one to get for someone who wants to lose weight in the belly, upper legs/thighs and the behind? I dont want to spend more than $500. I am also open to any ideas you have on other exercise equipment that would help with what I want to do.
I agree with everyone that the elliptical or treadmill is great, but a rebounder (mini trampoline) is something that would be helpful to add to lose pounds and burn fat.
Google: "rebounder weight loss" for a lot of information.
For me, 20-30 minutes per day on the rebounder, 5 days per week, with walking (or elliptical) works best to burn fat. Also add some light weights. Best of luck!

I need to loose about 15 pounds, I was thinking about trying that 10 48 Hollywood miracle drink on tv or the 10 minute abs thing.
A jump rope ($5.00). With pushups and crunches you'll get stronger, increase your endurance and look great. It's that easy.

An ultra-efficient toning and fat burning workout
Just had a baby a few weeks ago and am looking into buying an exercise equipment. Not sure which of the two is better for toning up the entire body (abs and legs primarily).
Elleptical's advantage is that it's without shocks on the joints and will help for people who are really overweight or suffer from arthritis. For normal people, threadmill allows a more natural movement and will cause less fatigue.

1) Find a six-week project to work on that will keep you from sitting on your fanny in front of the TV... ie: build a flower garden... paint a room(s);
2) Eat sensibly and slowly... avoid large meals and fried food;
3) Avoid eating after 8 p.m.

Best equipment for a tiny apartment? - 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet ...
I've been on a nearly year-long bout of hopelessness and not doing a darn thing about my weight. As a result, my weight is at the highest it's been since I've started losing, and I'm sick of it. I've considered ordering some sort of exercise equipment for the home, because my agoraphobia makes going to the gym unlikely. Unfortunately, I share a tiny apartment with two other humans and four cats (just brought the fourth home tonight!). That look's pretty awesome if stair stepping is something that u think u would like and u can stick to. Myself, I find u can't beat a good exercise video and a set of dumbbells. The 10 minute solution videos are pretty good and broke down into segments so u can start with just one segment or u can do the whole video. However, if u are not dance inclined don't waste ur money on the dance ones.
