I'm trying out for field hockey in 6 weeks so I need to get better at running. Its too hot outside to run so I'm thinking about buying a gazelle glider or a treadmill. Which would get me in the best shape for field hockey?
I know you are going to HATE this answer but the best is to run out side although its hot. The tryouts will be outside, and all the games will, also running is different on a gazelle glider or treadmill then on grass/dirt/pavement.

From your experience? Such as...the gazelle, a treadmill, elliptical, bike, just when I'm not in the mood to go to the gym and for the winter months.
treadmill, or elliptical. They both provide complete workouts, and target all major leg muscles. I like ellipticals better, since they are easier on my knees.
Even better, get an elliptical with handles (cross-trainer) or a nordic-ski...
I'm having trouble finding any cardio exercise equipment rated for my weight in a reasonable price range. Everything I find rated for 350lbs is like over a thousand dollars. The only thing i've seen close are those retarded looking gazelle...
Try a recumbent bike ( got one a few years ago for $300 and it's still working great). You are sitting back comfortably and you can find them everywhere. Go to a local sporting goods/work out equipment store and find a bike you like then take that...
I have the tony little gazelle. it has the option of using resistance or no resistance. will i burn more calories with or without the resistance or will it be the same? also, it squeaks alot when i use the resistance(i have been using it for...
You will burn more calories with resistance.
I am 5-0 and want to lose some weight off my stomach so I was wondering which would be the best equipment to buy for personal home use. I already have a tony little gazelle which only worked to get my arms stronger and an ab lounge which hasn't...
Best thing is, to not buy any equiptment. It's costly and gives you if not the same than less effects of good old fashion crunches. Because you are not relying on the machine to do the work for you. So lay on your back and crunch away. Don't come...
Prepared or scared
Plus, when The Center for Disease Control posts an article called “Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse,” which they did May 12, you might want to make a few notes on what you could do should such an event occur.
First and foremost, treat a zombie invasion like you would treat any natural disaster. After that you have a good foundation to get more specialized.
Start by creating a kit containing the same elements one would find in any emergency kit: one gallon of water per person per day, food, extra clothes, first aid, and portable appliances like battery powered radio, flashlights, etc.
Here’s where the specialization comes into play. I don’t remember an earthquake or fire drill including an exercise in grabbing a gun before lining up on my school’s soccer field. Unlike a natural disaster, part of a zombie survival plan is getting weapons.
Gazelle Fitness Equipment – Exercise Equipment That Works
Do you want to get spooked? Are you afraid of ghosts? If you’re looking for a little chill thrill, then visit my basement. It is an Exercise Graveyard. A cemetery devoted to waste, laziness, and failure. Each piece of equipment stands out like a tombstone marking the death of my waistline. Some of them are covered in dust and cobwebs, some look “freshly dug”. My cat Fred, is so freaked out about them that he won’t go down there so the mice know its a safe zone. The mice are the only things going squeak in the night down there.
They are grouped together by their industry names. I have the Body by Jake section, the Gazelle fitness equipment section, and the Suzanne Somers area. Just saying the Somers area makes my blood run cold.

I do have a bit of experience with elliptical equipment, of sorts. A year ago, I was using the inexpensive Gazelle, which I loved, however the equipment was
