Benedictine University officials excited about new fitness center
It’s something old, something new, and something quite amazing.
On Friday, Benedictine University officially unveiled its new state-of-the-art 11,000-square-foot fitness center and training facility within the Dan and Ada Rice Center.
“Major renovations have turned a ‘seasoned’ building into a modern athletic center that will provide new fitness and cardio centers for our students and staff,” said Benedictine University President William Carroll. “A growing campus and growing population of students demand a state-of-the-art athletic facility.”
Throughout the morning, hundreds of faculty and students streamed through the doors of the Rice Center, at the corner of College Road and Maple Avenue in Lisle. Originally dedicated in 1977, the center was once home to the university’s aquatic center.
