I don't have access to a stationary bike, but I do have access to an eliptical trainer to use during my lunch hour at work. On the eliptical, I like to set the resistance as high as I can, but still keeping a pace that will get my heart and lungs...
Sure it will. Any cardio conditioning will help. the eliptical is probably the best over all exercise device there is.
As for legs, not so much. The muscles used for walking are very different from those used for cycling. Only way...

i recently got an eliptical trainer, and i want to lose fat in my legs. i plan to run on it everyday...but for how long do i have to run per day to burn fat?
is 20 minutes good enough? or does it have to be longer?
thanks so much!
Well, you definitely have to run more than 15 minutes before fats start to get burned. The best is to run 30 minutes, take a 3 minute break, and then go back for another 30 minutes. Note that when you are taking the 3 minute break, do not sit down as
1 hr of Turbo Kick or 1 hr on the eliptical trainer? Which one will help me burn more calories? I'm trying to get back into shape and am interested in knowing which of these two will help me burn more calories?
Thanks for your...
Turbo Kick. It not only burns more calories, but uses a lot more muscles than the eliptical for a better total body workout. It's high energy and lots of fun. You can make it low or high impact simply by how bouncy you are. Make sure you bring a...
I do sweat on treadmill and burn a lot of calories and would assume I'd burn even more on the eliptical cross trainer which is pure torture IMO. Why do I burn so few calories on it but burn heaps on the easier treadmill?
It's probably closer to the true calorie consumption! Most machines vastly overestimate the number of calories you burn to make the machine more popular and to get people and gyms to buy them. Most overestimate up to 50% of what you really burn....
Someone told me that if I set the elipitcal trainer at a lower resistance and for a longer time period for like 45 mins. than I would burn more calories...and then someone else told me that larger muscles burn more calories..so I should set it at...
They are both right!
At the lower intensity, you will burn calories the longer you do it. This is very good cardiovascular exercise.
At the higher intensity (resistance), you are working your large muscle groups (ie,...

Shirley, NY (PRWEB) December 06, 2011
Biodex Medical Systems, Inc., of Shirley, N.Y., has just released the New BioStep 2 semi-recumbent elliptical trainer. The BioStep 2 combines the benefits of smooth, elliptical, cross-training with the comfort, safety and stability in semi-recumbent positioning. Zero joint impact, plus biomechanically correct arm and ankle motion emulates natural walking patterns, a great rehabilitative tool for senior wellness, cardiac rehab, neurorehabilitation, sports medicine, general wellness and aerobic conditioning.
The elliptical motion of the BioStep 2 is naturally smooth and continuous; very different from the stop-start motion associated with other recumbent steppers. The step-through frame, simple easy-to-see and use display is combined with a comfortable, robust design to make BioStep 2 the obvious choice for therapists. With the fluid, elliptical motion, the BioStep 2 is forgiving on the knees, ankles, hips and lower back. The BioStep 2 reduces joint impact because the user is not required to lift and strike their feet on the walking surface.
Shopping For An Elliptical Trainer On-line – What You Need To Know ...
After I first began working in the fitness tools trade the thought of customers shopping for on-line appeared absurd. But about 9 years ago the corporate I labored for built a web site and started advertising on Yahoo. Back then Google was nonetheless an idea, and ppc advertising hadn’t been conceived. Surprisingly a couple of people here and there would make purchases, primarily for treadmills. All gross sales had been performed by way of the phone.
Step by step sales increased, so about 6 years ago I urged we include a purchasing cart on our site. The response was, “who would buy health equipment online without speaking to somebody first.” Nicely, how times have changed. Once I left the corporate over 60% of our sales have been by means of the cart. Our minimal worth item was $1,000, with our premium merchandise exceeding $three,000.
