I'm looking for something to use indoor this winter. Should I get a rowing machine, a stationary bike, an eliptical machine, or a treadmill?
The best piece of equipment is perhaps the cheapest - the jump rope. It offers cardiovascular benefits and tones the upper body at the same time. Nothing else comes close. Practically speaking, however, the best piece of fitness equipment to purchase
I'm thinking of getting an eliptical machine so I don't have to drive to the gym every day but was wondering if my electricity bill would skyrocket and if it would work with a regular socket and outlet without modifying anything in the wall.
I got an elliptical trainer at home and can tell you this: I get on the machine in the morning and around noon for 1/2 hour each. I sweat a lot and I exercise hard---I do not get tired. In fact, I am full of energy, get less tired and am always in
Im 19 years old and I currently am 5'3 weigh about 125 pounds. I want to lose like 10-15 pounds. What exercise machine would work best eliptical or treadmill. Also how long do you think it would take to lose the weight if I ate healthy and worked out
I would use the elliptical cause it works out your whole body ((arms and legs)). I think that you could loose the weight you desire in about a month.
Which will help burn more calories - running on the treadmill for 30 minutes non stop or using the eliptical trainer for 30 minutes?
Definitely running on the treadmill. I've read some many articles regarding this very same question and that is what all the experts say.
my knees don't hurt, it just drops
penquins do have knees, i read it in a book once, we just can't see them under all that "fat"
my knee has done this all my life and i just start using the machine a week ago, i am not going...
Its very important that you stop working out and go to the doctor let a specialist look at your knee, and do it soon because if you working out on a injured knee you can cost some sereous damage to your knee.
Strapped for space? Mini exercise machines are an option
Folks with lifetime memberships to Bally's, or with enormous basement rooms specially fitted out with top-of-the-line treadmills, rowing machines and incline benches, need not apply. Those who should: people without the money or time for a gym membership, or without the space for a home fitness center. They're limited to whatever equipment can slide under the bed, be tucked away in a closet or fit snugly in the corner next to the flat-screen TV.
"Anyone can get in shape, even with limited space," Lutz says. "But the key component is the human being at the machine — not the machine used by the human being."
Mini-versions of exercise bikes (Medline Portable Pedal Exerciser, about $230, available at some Walgreens), elliptical steppers (J/Fit Mini Elliptical Trainer, $114.95), gliders (Stamina Body Trac Glider, $229.99) and most other machines in the cardio repertoire are widely advertised, some of them costing well under $200 or even $100, if you shop around online. While most of them won't give you a pro-level workout, any one of them will give you more exercise than sitting on your couch watching reruns of "The Office."
